"Respiratory spec Dr"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

We had the misfortune to visit the respiratory specialist for my husband; the doctor who had been in post a week. The Attention shown at consultation which was negligible. I had specifically told them I'd been told I had isolated a pneumonia bug in a sputum specimen done by GP. This was dismissed.

Eventually I asked about treatment and they said they would contact my doctor.

This was done but not after dismissing the infection as copd (accurate but still needed treament) finally prior to my leaving they eventually listened to my chest!

A chest clinic basic one would expect.

Totally unacceptable in my opinion.

Why does it need an appt at hospital for that response.

I was disgusted.

We are sorry that the clinic experience did not live up to expectations.

All medical staff seeing patients in clinic have the necessary expertise and training but do rotate between different hospitals in the region.

If you wish to discuss your concerns further please contact our Patient and Liaison Service on 01392 402093 and we would be happy to look into your concerns further.
