What I liked There was hardly anything that I liked. What could be improved? Where shall I start I went to a&e with adomanal pains on the 11th march 2010 I was seen to straight away the staff was very friendly but was left waiting for results of a while and there was a lack of cummication between the paitent and staff and other staff. I then later got transferred to ratu then ward 7 where the staff were lovly. I later got discharged on the monday , then the next friday I got rushed back into a&e with adomal pain where I sat for 3 hours before seeing a doctor I finally saw him they asked what I was allergic to I told them codine and a anti sickness drug which none of my family members can take they did tests which I was waiting ages for the results, then the a&e staff give me the anti sickness drug which I was allergic to with out telling me, I felt really bad as it was getting put in to my fenflon I told them I didn't feel well and they said it was the side affects, they still sent me for a xray even tho I was shaking and feeling light headed. In xray I started having a fit and chest pains my father tried to get a nurse but there wasn't any, I got rushed back to a&e where they didn't a ecg and bms. The staff just couldn't care, later on I was needing to go to the toilet I told the nurse then she didn't come back so it took 3 more family members to ask before a got to go on a camode which they didn't even come back to collect. I was in a&e for a total of 8 and a half hours before a got to the ward. Anything else? On the ward the nurses didn't even know that I was arriving they didn't know who I was. I was left in a side by myself and it took 2 hours before a nurse came in and that was only because I buzzed them for pain killers and a blanket . I was nil by mouth and they didn't put a drip up for me. On the following morning the surgeon came to see me, he was un caring and seemed to busy to stop and discuss what they were going to do. The ward was dirty the toilets were disgusting. Later that morning my family came in wanting to talk to the surgeon he came down and my mother and sister was talking to him about my treatment and what he was going to do, he was talking down to them and couldn't care about me he says he can't do nothing cause he only deals with a pendersitus and mine wasn't that so he told me to go to my gp and off he went. After he went I discharged myself cause I was not happy about the care I am only 19 years old but it was terrible exprience and I am still ill but will never consider going to that hospital again.
