"I too underwent a procedure at ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked I too underwent a procedure at the Endoscopy unit. The staff were very kind and reassuring, which helped to make an unpleasant, painful and undignified procedure as good as it could be. They offered to stop when I was struggling with the pain. It was my choice for them to carry on and complete the procedure. What could be improved? The description in the literature beforehand described the procedure as "uncomfortable but not painful". I was prepared to believe that, but forund it exceptionally painful. I was offered paracetamol afterwards, but it never arrived. Anything else? Being given a hot drink after the procedure again helped to make me feel human, a person rather than a number.
