"Impossible to contact A &E"

About: Brighton General Hospital

I was told my 97 yr old mother had been taken to Brighton hospital by the ambulance. I have waited n the phone for in excess of 20 mins & they won't even answer. I am 50 miles away I don't know where she is. the switchboard can't connect me . intolerable. There should be clerical staff not medics manning phones all the time. no wonder it's rated inadeqaute
