"Lack of communication"

About: Victoria Hospital / Day Intervention Unit

(as the patient),

I am a prostate cancer patient and waiting for radiation therapy. I am already having hormone therapy. As no appointment information had been sent to me I contacted the relevant department enquiring about my treatment to be told that appointments had been made for me but nobody took the trouble to contact me to tell me about these appointments. How do you expect patients to attend appointments if this information is not passed onto the patient.

Dear Johnmu

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your concerns about your appointments. I am sorry that you have not been given the information that you need. This must be a worrying time for you and your family and you do not need this added frustration. We are keen to understand why this has happened and to resolve this for you. I have spoken to Maureen Devaney, our Urology Cancer Nurse Specialist, and she would like to investigate this further and would be grateful if you could call her on 01592 643355 ext 23405.

Kind regards

Gill Ogden
