"Missed follow up appointment"

About: New Stobhill Hospital (Glasgow)

(as the patient),

I attended follow up appointment after heart surgery I had last November. I missed an earlier a appointment as I forgot about about the appointment, I was given many weeks notice of the appointment by letter however, if I had received a reminder nearer of the appointed time like what happens at Springburn Health Center who send a reminder by text the day before an appointment is due. I would not have missed the appointment.

I found the all the staff friendly and helpful The hospital was clean and tidy.

I received fantastic service.

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear RexJim

Thank you for sharing your recent experience on Patient Opinion. I fully understand that if you had received a reminder text about your appointment then you would not have missed the appointment.

I will share your feedback with the service about the appointment reminders. I will also share your kind words about the staff, as they will be delighted to receive such positive feedback.

Best wishes
Lisa
