"Severe chest pains"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

My 55 year old, soon to be husband was taken by me to A & E Wednesday 10th August at 11.55pm with excruciating right side chest pain continuing over his shoulder. Virtually unable to sit down or use his arms. We were seen by triage within a minute of arrival, he was given ECG within 10 minutes, then seen by a doctor soon after who immediately discounted a heart attack, and sent him to x-ray for chest x-rays. Again very quickly executed. We have nothing but praise for the way the whole situation was handled, the doctor was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and took time to explain everything in detail. Im happy to say this turned out not to be serious, but likely pleurisy following a recent flu like illness - something we never understood to be so painful. Thank you St Peters Hospital

Dear Juli, thank you very much for taking the time to share your positive experiences of our A&E department here. We are delighted to hear that your fiancé was seen so quickly and that you felt he was well looked after. We hope he is feeling better now.
