About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

I visited A&E and was treated promptly and professionally, however after being told I would have to be admitted, I was left in a corridor for 6 hours before a bed became available. I want to point out this was not the departments fault, they were really busy and did the best they could. I was admitted to ward 14 first and then moved to ward 41, both wards gave excellent care. Somebody really needs to do something about the wait for beds when being admitted. Also car parking needs to be looked at, when family visited they found it really difficult to find a car parking space.

I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with some of your experiences on this occasion and we will make sure your feedback is passed to the Matrons and Sister for all departments - i am sure they will be pleased and encouraged that the care was excellent on Wrds 14 and 41.

We will also pass this to the Car Parking Manager.
