"Better experience of Pinderfields than my Dad had"

I was having heart problems and went to Pinderfields Hospital CCU. I appreciated that I was kept informed by the nurses and doctors on this ward. However, they told me that I could go home on Friday afternoon, then as I was walking out of the door, I was told that they had changed their minds and I had to come back!

I was upset and angry, as my 6 year old son had come to collect me, then when I was told I would have to stay in over the weekend, he was heartbroken.

My time spent on CCU at Pinderfields Hospital was made easier by the care of the staff and consultants, even after the mishap on Friday afternoon - in the end it was for my own sake and for the better!

After spending the last few years in and out of this hospital with my late Dad, I was not looking forward to my time in this hospital, as I felt my Dad received disgusting care on G ward over the Xmas and new year period (2006/7), I could only feel the same care is what was ahead of me. How wrong I was! The difference in nursing from G ward and CCU - it was totally different.
