My daughter was admitted to A&E by her G,P for an emergency M.R.I. We waited for over 4 hours for an ambulance only to realise that once we finally arrived at Pinderfields emergency department that 10 Ambulance. Crews were waiting to hand over their patients to A&E staff. To have a valuable resource be tied up waiting like this beggars belief. We actually queued for 1 hour before being seen by a nurse who was of the opinion that my didn't need a MRI scan "as the nurse could assure us that they only did CT scans as emergencies. My daughter was left on a trolly all through the night in a cubicle which had cannulas left on the wash basin. My daughter was in excruciating pain. Pain relief was limited to say the least. I her mother suggested to the nurse that pain relief be reviewed with the medical team. And so the travesty continued what turned out to be a wait of over 36 hours from the G.P requesting an MRI to one being done. This inefficiency has led to devastating consequences for my daughter as a serious medical condition was identified. One which tine being of the essence leads to better recovery after surgery. Oh one more thing when professionals disagree I suggested they do it out of ear shot of the patient . I can honestly say that I will not ever use emergency room service at Pinderfields Hospital again, never never never. Shame on you all
"Poor service and uncaring staff"
