"Absolutely disgusted"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

My daughter recently gave birth here and we are very unhappy with the way she was treated. Midwives seemed more interested in having a cup of tea and a chat with the other staff than looking after the ladies and babies in their care. Nothing was explained, and the way they talk in code is very rude! Thankfully mum and baby were fine, but the birth was very traumatic and, in my opinion, totally unacceptable. There are a couple of good midwives, but most left us feeling like an inconvenience. This should be a happy time but the staff are dreadful. No continuity all all, told one thing by one midwife and something totally different by another. The whole service needs a good shake up. Really think some of the staff should consider whether they ought to be doing this job. It should be a privilege to be involved in the birth of a baby, not an inconvenience to your shift long tea breaks.
