Brought my father into AE with severe stomach/kidney pain and vomiting, was told to have a seat in waiting room. Quite busy , lots of people chatting and laughing loudly ( why on earth are they sat in an emergency dept i dont know). There was a little old lady sat nxt to me in a wheelchair with oxygen tubes, she was struggling a bit to get her breath...yet all these young seemingly well others were getting called through before her which i think is a disgrace. Thought it was triaged? Meanwhile my father is sat doubled over wincing in pain...this wemt on for the next 2 and half hours. Whilst waiting i observed paramedics wheeling in the druggies who got seen to straight away, its all wrong. Ive nothing but praise for the paramedics, there only doing their job but something needs to change! The doctor who treated my father was really nice with him, explained everything and answered any questions. He is recovering well.
