"Thank you to staff"

About: Arnold Lodge Regional Secure Unit

(as a volunteer/advocate),

I met with a patient on cannock ward at Arnold lodge who asked me to post the following to thank staff for their support in my care and treatment pathway and providing activities that enhance the patient experience.

"thanks to therapy services, particularly richard for todays farm day, it was very enjoyable. There was lambs, pigs, donkey, chickens and geese. It was a really fun afternoon that lifted the spirits and makes you focus on other things"

"I want to thank Mike and Lynne for the opportunity to make a bench in woodwork. I am most grateful for their support and teachings, I have learnt such a lot.

I was able to buy it for my foster mum and they took me home and helped me assemble it. "

" I start college to do a chefs diploma in September, I want to thank all my clinical team, OT Alison and Lynne for their support in getting me to this position. I am very excited about this new experience. "

"Thanks to my clinical team and Richard the OT for arranging the various placements I have been involved in- the canal and River Trust project, we have been to presentations, worked the locks, unclogged weirs and I got to captain a boat. I cant tell you how valued this made me feel as an individual....normal work!

Richard was also instrumental in organising the farm day which has been a huge success for all patients. "

"I would also like to thank Alison my OT and Lynne for their continued support in everything that I have done. Lynne has been there every step of the way, I feel I cant thank her enough. She has been by my side during my work placements at Remit, the allotment, woodwork, the Canal Trust and now college. "

Thank you for this very positive posting about the work of my colleagues in the Therapy Services Team and the work of the wider Clinical Teams.

Those of us who were involved in the farm animal day found it very enjoyable and quite uplifting as well. I think we all found it very therapeutic to be around animals that day. We will definitely be considering similar events in the future.

We are very keen at Arnold Lodge to promote skills and experiences that patients can use when they leave the hospital. You, as a patient, have worked hard to make the best use of the educational and vocational opportunities that have been offered to you and the whole team is very pleased and gratified that you have done so well. I hope your experience will inspire others to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

I have passed on your postive comments to my colleagues Alison, Lynn, Mike and Richard and all of the teams that you work with.
