"Only intrested in meeting targets, not patient..."

About: Castle Hill Hospital

My son was on the waiting for 3 years to have some plastic surgeory. He went through all the checks and in May 2016 was informed that funding was in place to do the work and due to the length of his wait that it would take place early summer (June 2016) We made the trip across the bridge (numerous trips before this as well) to see the surgeon and go through and issues or concerns and again was told that due to his wait we have had that it needs to be done asap. We thought great, left knowing what was going to happen, to then a couple of days later we opened a letter saying that my son had now been removed from the list and that he would be added straight back and that his operation was going to happen (something to do with figures the doctors have to work to, and to keep the % of operations inline with government/trusts undertaking) as promised. Feeling upset we rang the secretary to find out what was going on and again told that it would happen, but to not panic and that they would get hold of their boss and then get back to us, 3 months later not heard a thing, tried calling a few times and keep getting fobbed off. My son has now received a letter from another consultant and after ringing them to be told that it was passed over, without any reason given to us and wouldn't explain why we had been passed over, to then be informed that originally the consultant who was going to operate on my son had sent his details to another consultant who doesn't do the type of work that my son needed. Which had gone unnoticed for weeks/months!

Fuming is not the word or feeling right now and feeling more upset for my son who has had to endure bullying from children while at school, suffering low self esteem and confidence which was one of the big reasons for the operation. He's now feeling low again due to these so called proffesionals and he's just asked "will I have to wait another 3 years dad?" to which I can't answer as nobody is answering my question that's been put to them. Think carefully about this place especially with how my son has been treated if it's your son/daughter mum/dad etc as there is no patient care from our experience
