"Ridiculous waiting times"

About: University Dental Hospital

Currently sat in an outpatient appointment with my daughter. Appointment was at 10 am and still haven't been seen at 11:25! What's worse is the longer I am here, the more the parking will cost!

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on the NHS Choices Website. Mrs Maher, Lead Nurse of the University Hospital of Manchester, would like to apologise for the lack of explanation to you regarding the delays in clinic. Mrs Maher explains that there are white boards placed in each of the waiting areas which are used by staff to inform patients of the expected delays in clinic that day. Mrs Maher has discussed your concerns with the Senior Dental Nurses on the clinics and has requested that the white boards are checked and updated regularly by the dental nursing staff and that lengthy delays are communicated verbally to patients such as yourself that have been waiting a significant amount of time after your allocated appointment slot. Mrs Maher confirms that all staff at the UDHM are very aware of the need to ensure that patients are kept up to date regarding any delays in clinic and she is very sorry that this did not occur on this occasion.
