"Excellent physiotherapy department."

About: Bideford Hospital

I was referred for physio by my GP following ongoing knee pain. I knew that I had osteoarthritis and thought that it was getting worse. From the minute that I made contact with the department they were kind and helpful and I was able to be seen very quickly.

I was was seen for an assessment by a physiotherapist who was very helpful, easy to talk to, informative, ananother physiotherapist, who was equally as helpful. After X-ray they were able to explain the results to me and this made a real difference as I could understand why I was in so much pain. They suggested that I would benefit from a six week programme from the physio gym, followed by a review. So that's what happened, the physio gym was hard work, followed by exercises at home and it worked......my pain levels have reduced, my knee does not give way and I can walk much further. The gym team were also excellent, they worked well together and with the patients . Most of us wished that the sessions could be extended ! So in summary, the physio department staff are a wonderful team who have really helped me ...a huge thank you x
