"I have nothing but praise for the staff"

About: Ruth Lancaster James Hospital

(as the patient),

Whilst out for a drive my husband collapsed suddenly with severe vertigo and vomiting. I phoned for an ambulance which took him to Alston Ruth Lancaster Hospital. Both the GP on call and Dr Handley and staff nurses were extremely kind considerate and efficient treating my husband. They did not have an empty bed so I was happy to bring my husband home to Kendal as m son arrived in his car to shadow us home, roughly 50 miles. Diagnosis was labyrinthitis which was confirmed by our own GP the next morning. Treatment was prompt and effective, the only thing that would have helped was if I had been offered a cup of tea, as I had not had a drink since breakfast time and it was 8.30pm when I got home, but I realise it is not a cafe! I have nothing but praise for the staff they were wonderful.
