"ward sister not very helpful"

About: Kent & Canterbury Hospital

staff where really helpful just a shame we had to take a day off work to visit a family member, we have to travel for four hours so asked if a later visit was possible nurses were fine but the sister in charge point blankly refused, we have visited several hospitals in the last year and none have refused as they understood our situation, just a pity in this day and age people can't try and accommodate the long distance visitors. overall though staff were great.

I am so sorry that the staff were not able to accommodate your needs to visit at a time outside that particular ward's visiting hours.

Not knowing the ward, I do know that some have particular protected time for the patients so that they can rest after a meal time, for instance.

In other wards the patients like to get settled for their night time's sleep earlier than average, particularly if elderly.

However, I can completely understand your frustration and I do hope you managed to visit your family member while you were in Kent.
