Whilst at home during the evening of 20 June 2016 and without any warning or symptoms I suffered a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Needless to say I was totally incapacitated with pain. Emergency ambulance took me to New Cross hospital Wolverhampton who immediately transferred me to Russells Hall. On arrival at Russels Hall I was wheeled directly into an operating room. A standby specialist vascular surgeon was called in who performed an immediate life saving operation during the early hours of 21st June. I spent a further 21 days on the vascular ward receiving what can only be described as fantastic care and attention from all the medical teams and specialist nurses Nothing was too much trouble either day or night. The rules of this site will not allow me to identify the brilliant surgeons skill that saved my life and the dedication of nursing staff that cared for me. However I hope they can all identify themselves from this review. I was transferred on 12 July to Holly Bank House Willenhall. It is impossible to express enough my thanks to you all.
