About: North Tyneside General Hospital

I have had gallbladder removal today and am now home. The only complaint is that my husband wanted to stay with me and be there for me when I woke up. This was not allowed. As a very close couple we feel we should be allowed to be together. It was very stressful having to be without him.Apart from that everthing wa fine. The staff from reception to nurses to theatre staff were all brilliant.I felt very well looked after, they are a credit to the NHS

Dear Hazel,

I’m sorry that your husband wasn’t able to stay with you and be by your side when you woke up from surgery. I will more happy to speak to the staff involved in your care to see why this wasn’t possible? Please email me your details privately, my email address is Annie.Laverty@nhct.nhs.uk.

I hope your surgery went well and you’re getting the support you need to see you through your recovery? I will pass your compliments to our reception staff, nurses and theatre team who cared for you so brilliantly.

All the best and take care of yourself,

Annie
