"Shocking treatment"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

My daughter was advised by our an out of hour doctor to attend A&E on Wednesday. Our usual GP was closed as was the walk in centre . She had an enormous insect bite which was clearly infected? it was at least 5 inches in size.

My daughter was in extremes pain. She was seen by a triage nurse at 3pm. This nurse i can only describe as dismissive and rude. They told my daughter that it was a busy time and she should just go to the chemist buy some anti histamine. My daughter explain the bite on her leg had grown rapidly in size and she was in serious pain and she had been advised to come to A&E by a on call GP. My daughter was then reluctantly booked in and was seen by someone else who then informed her there wasn't a serous problem. I managed to get her an emergency appointment the next morning with our own GP... Our GP was horrified by the size and serious infection of this bite. They placed my daughters on antibiotics and steroids ... She had a serous allergic reaction to this bite which should of been treated by your department.
