"The shortage of beds is causing major problems..."

My 92 year old father, who has dementia, was admitted to KCH with a UTI.

There were no beds available on the frailty wards so he was placed on another ward where his needs were not met.

He languished there for one month where he was kept virtually bed bound, had no stimulation and lost weight as he was not coaxed to eat or drink. As for the so called "integrated" discharge team - they are a disgrace with members of the team not knowing what others are doing. At the request of my father's doctor and an occupational therapist I am putting this complaint in writing.
