"Very poor care - nobody cares."

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

There is a delay of at least 4 weeks for outpatient letters at the moment. This means if you need a medication change it can be delayed by at least 4 weeks. If our experience is typical: you will see a consultant once in 3 years and be fobbed off with an overworked stressed out nurse specialist in between. The clinicians only express interest in the disease you were referred for and do not consider you holistically. There may be a clinic running within half a mile of your home but you will still be asked to travel 20 miles to Hull or 18 miles to Driffield for all your appointments even though you are over 70 years old and severely disabled. The team will promise to call you on multiple occasions and then not do so. You will ask for copy letters and not receive them. You may look for support from PALs and only manage to get an answerphone. You may wish to choose to travel out of area to avoid this service.
