"Maternity service"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I am very disappointed about maternity service there and reasons are: every appointment is with different midwife...... after a month since my urine was tested received a letter that I am having infection and need antibiotic, then next day was told it was a mistake .... called community midwives 24hour answer phone left a message and nobody called me back, went to Triage waiting almost 3 hours to see a doctor then waiting for midviwe to take my blood sample asking when it finally happend as maybe pregnant women need something to eat? when it happend midwife put my blood sample into my notes so I took tchem home with me instead send them to be tested..

so all in all very poor service and most important is who is going on break or jokes. Now I am going to Whittington and I am very happy there.

Thank you for your feedback.

This is not the usual standard of service and apologise that you experienced these issues.

We recognise that continuity of carer can be an issue and we are working on ways to improve this.

We have initiated a maternity direct number for women who have questions or concerns and that this is staffed by experience midwives. I am the head of midwifery, g.slevin@nhs.net and will be sharing your comments with the team.
