Having been clumsy and falling awkwardly on my right arm, i attended Pontefract A&E first thing Boxing day, staff great, had an xray, and informed it was only soft tissue damage. Received a phone call a couple of days after, asking me to return, i was absolute agony. The consultant said they weren't sure what was going on with the elbow, so referred me to the fracture clinic. at Pinderfields. The first week in January 2016, I saw the consultant, who told me i had in fact fractured my elbow, ( radial head), bearing in mind my arm had been immobilised for nearly 10 days, in agony and stuck in a 45 degree angle..... they said, 6 weeks, they weren't going to operate, but it would take 6 weeks. i asked about physiotherapy, they said, "i would bother"?
They also told me i didn't need to go back. I'm a bit old school and expected at least a progress x ray at six weeks to see if the fracture had healed. ...but no. I had to have 4 months off work, sort out my own physiotherapy, which I'm still receiving and paying for, I'm now at 8 months...not 6 weeks. I feel extremely let down, by the advice and lack of treatment, I've literally had to sort matter out myself, and I'm still in reduced pain, and cannot still fully extend my arm... extremely disgusted.
