I had a minor operation at Bev Stokes Day Surgery unit recently. I was impressed with the overall process from start to finish. GP referral to operation (GP to Hallamshire to Northern General to operation) took about 3 months, handovers were good, postal correspondance was clear, queues were relatively short and in each case I was seen within a reasonable time of the agreed appointment time.
On the day I was kept informed throughout, the operation was only about 1 hour later than scheduled and the care was excellent. The operation proceeded without problems and all staff were very professional.
I used the contact number afterwards to get some advice on my wound - this was answered promptly, my records were recalled quickly and the advice given was just what I was looking for.
Overall, a good experience.
