Went to A&E in early July and was seen very quickly and dealt with very well, hand/wrist was x-rayed and nothing found.
At the start of August I was still in pain in my wrist went back to A&E and again was seen very quickly and x-rayed again but with an additional x-ray from a different angle which showed a clear fracture.
I was then put in a cast and given a fracture clinic appointment which I accepted. I was phoned the next day and told by the fracture clinic that I would require an operation to re-align the bones which might happen on the following day or so, but they would phone me.
No phone call by 12:00 so I phoned the hospital who put me through to the fracture clinic, after getting cut off twice they gave me the extension number, I have also rung this several times today but with no reply at all, no answer phone message either.
All the staff that have dealt with me have been very nice and courteous and professional, I am just frustrated that from receiving the call and being informed that I will need an operation that I have had no further contact. I know this is only 1 day after the call and there also may be other more urgent patients, but I have a lot of work planned over the next 3 weeks and I am on a driving holiday after that so I need to make plans which has probably made me more frustrated about no contact.
Cannot fault the staff up to now though, apart from missing the break in the first place, it was very hard to see until the additional x-ray.
