"Whitley bay / North Shields community mental health team"

About: Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust / Primary care mental health

(as the patient),

I've been with the service many years and now in 2016 I feel like it is the worst it's ever been they say complain if your not happy but you never get listened to, so far I've made 2 complaints and nothing EVER get sorted they show their policies on their web site but I feel like the staff don't seem to know about them because they treat me like I'm not worth bothering with they definitely don't go that extra mile they state everything is a bother to them. Patients should not have to beg for help or be left without a worker for weeks when the staff are rude they have a carnt be bothered attitude. I've been left to feel like my life is worth nothing and left me feeling just to give up and not try anymore. They've taken every ounce of fight out of me I give up trying they make it too hard, grind you down. I now feel am worth nothing they've ground me down to the point that I give up don't know who to ask for help anymore life seems pointless cause the staff at the cmht just don't care whether patient are alive or dead. In my experience patients are left weeks without help, staff managers don't return calls no wonder we just give up in 2016 life shouldn't be like this patients should be made to feel their like is worth nothing or to be left feeling life isn't worth trying I hope it improves for others.

We are sorry that this is your recent experience of services and it is not how we would want it to be. Our care delivery is focused on individual needs and the Trust aims to ensure that people requiring help and support receive this in a timely manner from a professional team of clinicians.

In instances where our service users report that their experience has not been satisfactory we will fully investigate concerns and respond on a case by case basis so any lessons learned can be shared and services improved. If the outcome of the complaints process is considered unsatisfactory we provide advice to enable concerns to be taken forward via the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) and Independent Complaints Advocacy (ICA).

Unfortunately it is not possible to provide a more detailed response to anonymous correspondence and suggest that any ongoing concerns are directed to complaints@ntw.nhs.uk so we can investigate further and respond accordingly.

What's the point of complaining when I feel that you're only interested in protecting each other and your jobs? you forget about how staffs actions affect patients not even bothering to see how a person is after weeks of just been left because a complaint was made. its people like us is why you all have a job.

Already have. Was told complaint can not go further yet staff member from cmht still not disciplined after raising thier voice at me and walking out. Yet I've had no contact, only to be told there no other worker for me so I've literally been dumped. In my experiencem when you offer to investigate everything is ignored, you only see what the staff write and don't listen to the truth ...always the same rubbish come out of complaints. Nobody saw anything, it didn't happen and the did everything they could.
