About: Stepping Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

On the whole the staff were very caring and nice although unfortuantly I can't say this about everyone I met. The preop staff were very helpful and made sure I was admitted to the correct the ward after I had come back from theatre.

What could be improved

I was discharged after my operation without seeing the doctors from the specality that had carried out the operation after clearing stating I didn't feel well and was in a significant amount of pain. I wasn't given clear instructions about after care and nor was I given certain medication / appliances that I needed.

Anything else?

On the whole I wouldn't recommend this hospital. I was left in severe pain for hours on end as it appeared the ward I was on was very short staffed and this affected pain care.

I would like to say thank you to the magnolia suite staff as the nurse I met in pre op was very friendly and the organisation she planned for my admission meant I got the care I needed when I came in for my operation.
