"My observations"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital

There is a marked and distinct change in the culture between day staff and night staff. The day staff are motivated and positive and friendly. The night staff seem as though they don't want to be there. I have learned that there is no management on site during the night because of cost. Since this is a 365 day 24 hours a day business, it seems ridiculous that the people who are responsible for the care, motivation and the culture of the hospital ie the management should be only on site for half the working day. It doesn't have to cost more to change the management contract to facilitate 24 hour management. The staff will appreciate this. It would be a positive indication of a single team being led at all times from the front, and have a positive effect on the business. And let's face it this is the greatest and best British creation, the National Health Service.
