I was admitted for an Upper Lobe Wedge Resections of my right Lung. I would have liked the staff to have been more accommodating towards my wife who had a 64 mile round trip to the hospital which took 5 hours and because of the poor connections between the buses my wife could only stay a maximum of 1.1/2 hours once she had arrived and even that time was constantly interrupted by staff (which I do understand). The staff were asked to note on my file to keep my wife informed because of my short term memory problems. Needless to say this wasn't done, on top of which I gave my wife and family quite a bit of conflicting information! The Medical Treatment I received was excellent and I could not have asked for better. With regard to wastage within the NHS, it took 2 nurses armed with one electric razor to remove the hair on my chest? whilst one did the shaving the other watched ! I also came home with an extra months supply of Stroke Pills even though I had all these at home (4 boxes in total). These were not needed.
