"Great patient care at Gartnaval Hospital in Glasgow"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Medical Oncology

(as the patient),

I was very grateful for the kindness, supportive care and the intelligent way in which I was treated in the breast care dept. All staff were amazing. I had been worried about breast lumps but within two hours I had been checked, given a mammogram, had an ultra sound and then had a cyst aspirated. I was kept informed of my care at all stages and felt like I was being given the best care possible. Brilliant service and staff.

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear FionaOutdoors

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion. I am pleased to read that the way in which our staff cared for you had a positive impact on how you felt, as I am sure this would have been a stressful time for you.

You also mention that you were kept well informed during your care. This is important aspect of the care that we provide to our patients.

I will ensure that your feedback is shared with the staff in the Breast Care Department in Gartnavel Hospital. They will be delighted to receive your feedback.

Best wishes
Lisa

Thank you. Please do pass on my comments. They will remember me as the woman who was dressed in cycle kit on Monday afternoon!
