"Special needs dental services"

About: Specialist Nursing Services / Special needs dental service/Community Dental Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My three young adults have autism and have struggled to accept any dental services.

When they go to Strelley dentist with a carer they really love seeing Wendy, the hygienist they describe her as kind and funny, carers say that she is very approachable, respectful, patient.

Wendy explains things using visual prompts to facilitate understanding, Wendy differentiates her approach for each of my young adults.

I needed to change a dental appointment, so I phoned special needs dental park house.

I spoke to a woman called Joy, she was so very helpful and understanding of the needs of young people who have additional needs, it was a pleasure to deal with her, Joy certainly lived up to her name.

Thank you for posting your comments on this forum.

Its fantastic to know Wendy, Joy and the team provide such a friendly service to their patients. The staff work hard to put patients at ease and offer care that caters for each individual's needs and is fully explained and understood.

We strive to ensure the service we offer is flexible and that the whole team understands the additional needs many of the services patients have.

Feedback such as yours is a real boost for staff, knowing their hard work is appreciated and recognised.

I will ensure your kind comments are shared with the team.
