"Mental health care"

About: Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust / Inpatient mental health care

(as the patient),

I have just been a patient on one of the mental health wards at tameside hospital and need the right people to know how disgusting I believe the staff are treating patients. There are numerous incidents that have made me personally feel a) uncomfortable and b) like a piece of dirt.

Some members of staff seem to revel in the fact they have control and make to remind me of that at every opportunity. I am a very quiet, placid person who kept themselves to themselves and yet still I was made to feel this way. It seems like they think because it is a mental health ward, that patients can be treated in any way they want and this is absolutely disgusting. In this environment, compassion is essential, but I think some members of staff have never heard of this word.
