"Cancelled appointments "

My wife was due to have a procedure done recently. She booked a weeks holiday to allow for her recovery time and I had to take two days off unpaid to be with her at the start of her recovery. We were walking to the car to go to the hospital when they phoned and cancelled the appointment. They sent a letter rearranging the new appointment stating it was for a few weeks later at Orsett day care unit for 8am. I rearranged the two unpaid days off with my employer who has changed all staff rotas to cover me and my wife rebooked her time off and her employer has done likewise with staff rotas. But guess what? They cancelled the day before the appointment in the evening and to top it off the appointment was at Basildon Hospital not Orsett as stated in the letter. So now not only does my wife not get her procedure done that she needs for a second time, but we have both got to mess our employers and the rest of their employees about yet again. I think the people in charge need to actually start realising what chaos and distress this causes.
