"The knowledge and professionalism ..."

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The knowledge and professionalism of the staff - from Auxillary to Consultant.

What could be improved

Communication from Doctor to Patient could have been improved slightly. (The nurse assumed I knew I was being kept in after attending A & E but the Doctor hadn't told me).

Anything else?

I've attended Tameside hospital several times in the last year, both as an Outpatient and had day case surgery. I will now be having my hysterectomy there, as I feel that I trust the staff and they work very hard. I feel that they are competent, knowledgeable and above all, very caring.

If you do your reaearch, you'll see that every hospital has it's share of horror stories, however, as Tameside is our local hospital, its only these that we hear about. I also feel that they're not always portrayed in a fair and just manner.

I can only go from my own experiences and I would personally recommend Tameside to anyone I know.

Dear Helen

Thank you for posting these comments. You obviously attended A&E and then were admitted to another department, although I cannot see from your posting which one. Whichever it was I am pleased that on this occasion, and others, you have had good experiences at Tameside Hospital and would recommend the hospital to others that you know. I hope everything goes well for your forthcoming operation.

Many thanks

Best wishes

Philip Dylak

Director of Nursing
