"Breast Clinic - Great Consultant, one thing to..."

I attended the breast clinic with my cousin who had to attend for a 2ww appointment. The consultant was very good. They introduced themself, explained what they were doing when they were doing it and made what could be a stressful appointment a calm experience. The only comment I would like to make is when my cousin was sent for her scan. I wanted to go in with her for support but they said they only wanted her to go in. She messaged me from the scan room saying they were going to do a biopsy. I told her to ask them to send for me, but they very clearly said they did not usually let people in as they wanted to focus on her. I don't believe this is putting patient choice first. My cousin was scared at the idea of having a biopsy and I could have made the experience seem less overwhelming by simply standing in the room with her. I would still recommend the service, but would like my feedback to be taken on board.
