"I only went for a blood test and ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

(as a relative),

What I liked

I only went for a blood test and entered a battle zone! I had to wait to hand in my blood test form as the phlebotomist and the receptionist appeared to be having a row/loud discussion about another member of staff. All the patients waiting to be seen could see and hear every detail of their conversation and it was quite shocking. I wasn't looked at or spoken to, my form was taken and as I walked away I heard the receptionist say' take a seat' - this was all they said to me.

What could be improved

No rowing in the department in front of patients!

Any customer service would have been nice.

We're really sorry that this happened, as there is no excuse for such behaviour. While our blood testing clinics are often very busy, we know that the teams involved do pride themselves in giving a good service. Clearly this was not one of their good days and for that we apologise. We'll make sure that this matter is brought to their attention as a matter of urgency. Thanks for letting us know.
