On the 13th.June 2016 I had my second hip replacement operation at Darent Valley Hospital, the first on July 2004. This time I had a spinal injection which was better than the General Anasthetic I had before.
I was fully aware on waking, and able to have coffee and toast soon after, such a treat, takes a short time for feeling to return to legs.
I was on Cherry Ward and the staff were wonderful.
I was in a room with a toilet, which was so convenient.
I made a rapid recovery and was home in two and a half days.
Two day less than 2004 !
I was twelve years older and I had wondered how I would cope.
I had nurses come to visit me at home, they too were wonderful, so helpful.
Am taking care, and in another six weeks will be more agile.
I am pleased at the speed of my recovery as now aged 78 years . Had my check up and discharged a few days ago.
Am so pleased with the outcome and want to thank all the people involved.
