(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were all excellent and attentive, despite being in a busy A&E department on a Saturday afternoon. The doctors and nurses were very clear about what procedures would be done and approximately how long this would take, their estimations were also very close to reality.

I have an ongoing problem that I have seen my GP about on no less than 3 occassions with no firm diagnosis. Fortunately my latest episode occurred on a Saturday and the emergency/out of hours assistance was far superior and far more in depth than anything that my GP seemed capable of offering.

This led to the neccessary tests being undertaken and although a diagnosis is yet to be confirmed some potential ailments have been ruled out (one of which is actually what my GP had believed was the problem) and I have a referral to a specialist in the required field of medicine.

I was made to feel comfortable and offered refreshments at timely intervals, 4 hours in A&E, yet a day truly well spent as things are now, finally moving in the right direction.
