What I liked

I like the way the Nurses and Drs communicated with each other about my sons treatment and respected my wishes that i didnt want him to know how severe his diagnosis was.

The atmosphere on the shugborough ward was up lifting, extremly reassuring and the staff felt like longtime friends when they shared all my emotions with me as I was told about my sons condition.

What could be improved

In my mind there is no improvements to be made on this unit, I have nothing but praise for the devotion of the staff and the whole experience thanks to them is humbling that there are such comitted people out there.

Anything else?

I had never considered a profession in Nursing until this positive experience on this ward, thanks to seeing such devotion I later decided to apply for a job on this ward so that I could one day put a bit back into this wonderful ward as i had once been given. I was sucessful and can say with my hand on my heart I now work in the best place in the world. Seeing how the hospital runs from a workers point of view really showed me the level of devotion and caring the staff endure every day. I never realised how peoples conditions can be taken home by those who care and look after their pateints. I for one am grateful we have such a fabulous service on our door step and will never take my son anywhere but the shugborough ward when he needs medical intervention. We love your kids ward...keep up the good work guys!!
