"I had a double lapraschopic hernia ..."

About: Darent Valley Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had a double lapraschopic hernia repair on 3/3/2010 and relaesed on 4/3/2010. On 9/3/2010 complications began. I attended A&E will severe stomach pains. I was eventually admitted and after some 26 hours later and having eventually been handed into the care of the consultant, I received emergency treatment for a twisted bowel and was released on 12/3/2010. The nursing staff on Redwood ward were outstanding and the consultant's medical team were excellent.

What could be improved

The A&E Consultant did not listen to my concerns.

Thank you for your very positive comments about the care and treatment you received at Darent Valley Hospital. I will ensure that the staff involved see these comments. I note your observations about the communication skills of the A&E consultant and I will ensure this feedback is shared with the consultant concerned.
