I was given an urgent referral by my GP to the ENT department and visited on 26th May 2016. The registrar I saw was outstanding - very, very kind - particularly since I was quite scared about what the possible diagnosis might be. The registrar, the two radiologists and nursing staff whom I saw that day were all excellent, particularly in calming my fears. I was operated on in June and all was well. Post op, the nursing staff on the ward were particularly kind (sorry - I can't remember their names) but I do need to record that a nurse sat with me on my bed at 2.30am calming my fears about my recent procedure, giving me a cup of tea and holding my hand when I was a sentimental mess! I will never forget that. I must also thank the surgeon who operated on me. The surgeon was lovely when they visited me the next day on the ward to check on me. Additionally, I had two further visits to Blackburn - one to ambulatory care and the second to urgent care. Each time I was treated with the utmost respect and kindness. This was only the second time I had ever needed a hospital (in 49 years!) and I have nothing but praise for the clinical (and other) staff who made what was a worrying experience bearable. Many, many thanks. Please pass on to the relevant staff. (I cannot remember the ward number, sorry).
"Many thanks"
