"Pleasant and courteous care in Hallamshire Cardiology Dept"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I was treated for Palpitations in the cardiology department at Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital. The care I received was very good, everyone, everywhere was so pleasant and courteous. Nothing could have been better.

I would like to thank everyone in the department who I had contact with.

I have since been to have a 24 hour monitor fitted and also an ultra sound scan. Both appointments made for me as a follow up. Again, everyone was so pleasant and kind.

Roundabout the 13th July I received a letter to ring up the Outpatients Department to make an appointment at the Chest Medicine Clinic. I rang the number given repeatedly throughout the day - all in vain. I left a message for someone to ring me back. The next day I rang again, repeatedly and left another message, all in vain again. Someone obviously picked up my messages because the next day I received a letter with an appointment date, which is fine but I find it so annoying and frustrating that no-one ever answers the phone on those 2 numbers. So must everyone else!

This is the only complaint I have with the service and I feel it should receive attention.
