"Bad attitude"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have been attending the fracture clinic twice a week for 9 weeks. During that time I have been treated really well from all staff but today my daughter & I were in the dressings room when a staff member came in and lambasted another member of staff for doing something wrong. She mouthed off even though I was getting my arm dressed. How totally unprofessional was her behaviour in front of other patients. She kept on at the wronged patient saying that its there in black & white. Maybe the staff member did do something wrong but at the end of the day she should be treated with respect. So, watch your step 'cos you wouldnt last long with attitude like that.

Maurn, after such a consistent level of care during your 9 weeks of treatment, I'm sorry that you witnessed such an incident. We take incidents like this and the impact they have on both patients and staff very seriously - I would be grateful if you could contact corporate.affairs@chsft.nhs.uk to discuss this matter further, and we can take steps to rectify the situation and make sure it doesn't happen again.
