"Very happy with the service"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had a scooter accident on Sunday morning, on a ride out with my friend to Woodall spa on a vintage Lambretta, my pride and joy.

Unfortunately I came off on a bend on some loose gravel, The site of seeing my pride and joy laid on the road, The last thing on my mind was any injuries I had occurred.

But after returning home with my scooter with a few pieces missing, it then occurred to me that I had injured myself.

Having a loving partner soon persuaded me to go to the pilgrim hospital.

After being welcomed by a friendly smiling receptionist, then seeing a very nice nurse, was then sent in for x-ray. X-ray staff very helpful &very friendly.

Then I see a junior doctor, who was also very friendly knowledgeable and polite, but then came the news that I had broken my thumb in three places, I was then seen by several of the nurses; blood pressure, temperature, then a lovely nurse who gave me two injections in my thumb (ouch), then seen by the specialist and another nurse who put my thumb back into place and plastered it.

Was very happy with the service I was given the waiting time and the care.

Have always been proud of my local hospital, Boston Pilgrim.

Thank you to all the staff that I saw on Sunday.

Dear Vintage,

Thank you for taking the time to post this lovely feedback, and apologies that it has taken so long to acknowledge it.

It is especially pleasing to read comments such as these, as it reinforces to me that our staff try extremely hard to ensure we treat our patients according to the Trust’s values of professionalism, care and understanding.

Putting professionalism to one side for just a moment, a number of colleagues also enquired about the Lambretta. Hopefully both you and it (or maybe that should be ‘she’) have made a full recovery.

Once again, thanks for your comments, they are very much appreciated.

Regards,

Kelly Harwood. Matron A&E Pilgrim Hospital
