About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

your website states that car park charges are 'minimal' at £0.6 per hour. I do not consider £2.50 for 2 hours as minimal. that works out at £1.25 per hour. I am sure you can prove your figures accurate by looking at some long-term parking fees but that does not reflect the majority of users.

We are sorry to hear you feel the car parking charges are not minimal at the Trust. Increasing our car parking fees was a difficult decision to make and we realise the rises look high, but we have looked at the pricing structures of other Trusts and our fees were significantly lower than many other organisations. Even with the current increase our prices are now in line with the general pricing structure for car parking.

We do offer a lot of concessions in the Trust if you were not aware of this, these include:

Reduced parking at a fee of £3 per day for parents of a child in hospital for the first two weeks of their stay and free thereafter Free parking for Haematology/Oncology undergoing regular treatment/ appointments Free parking for a carer or relative of a patient who has been in hospital for over two weeks Free parking for disabled drivers if parked in a designated disabled parking bay Patients who are receiving benefits may reclaim their travel expenses through the NHS Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme
