"Taking our daughter to Accident & Emergency"

About: Watford General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My 9 month old daughter had a rash all over her body so I brought her into accident & emergency with my husband at 1am In the morning. Usually we would be asleep by this time so we were half awake on arrival..

Whilst the the two  nurses did deal with the situation promptly both girls at various points during the examination took our daughter's clothes off without either asking us or our baby daughter's permission and then ended the appointment very suddenly without any signs of an emergency.

I feel angry and upset by this as I do not think that is an appropriate way to treat any of us and definitely not the correct way to treat a baby, our daughter.

I did address it with one of the nurses at the time yet have left accident and emergency questioning whether I was listened to and whether what I said was acknowledged.

I find this unacceptable. Therefore if I cannot trust the girls to respect our daughter's body space, I have no choice but from now on to change our daughter's clothes.
