"Parking fine"

About: Royal Free Hospital / General surgery

(as a carer),

My husband of 82 was an in patient at the RFH  after being taken there by ambulance. He was in for 6 days.

He had an appointment at the Urology dept two days later.

My son and I took him and displayed my blue badge on the windscreen.

My son remained in the car on a designated disabled meter.

We were back shortly after one hour and drove off.

Last week I received a demand for a parking fine of £60 or £100 if not paid by 6 th August 2016.

I sent details with my badge to the private contractors for the hospital as indicated.

I received a reminder to pay last week.

I do not feel that I should pay this fine.

Thank you for your response.

I want to know whether I am exempt from paying the fine for parking in a disabled bay for just over an hour with a blue badge and time shown on my windscreen while taking my sick husband of 82 ,who had just left the RFH as an inpatient a day before ,to the urology department?

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately I phoned the numbers given and when I eventually got through, they said that it was the wrong number and while hanging on they tried to transfer me to two different extensions.

No one answered the phones.

I asked how to get through myself and they said the number was to main switchboard of RFH

0207 794 0500 and extension 35858

So far no joy at getting through yet.
