Aprox 3mths ago now I took a serious fall while at work and broke my back, suffering a collapsed lung and a blood clot in the other lung.
On top of this it seems I developed a heart condition and all looked very bleak. Thinking about it, I really do believe my life would have ended if it wasn't for the good work carried out by the doctors & staff at the MRI.
The reason, however, for writing this is not to compliment the doctors for their top work and good end result! but for me it's more important to say a humungous thank you to the nursing staff, the majority of which I really believe were exceptionally competent, caring people to the point that I'm sure thier Mothers wondered what the lumps were on their backs when very young.
These were the wings that I saw when being treated so exceptionally well by both female and male nurses.
The nursing staff in question were in the Critical Care Unit and later in the ESTU Ward.
Can't thank you all enough and thanks to you as much as the doctors I'm now walking again, free from my back brace and eventually looking forward to a full recovery.
Words can't convey my appreciation but really believe you helped as much as anybody else to pull me through while being a credit to your profession.
Steve Ratcliffe.
"Exceptional nursing staff"
